Screenings
The Kiosk (7 minutes) – Olga is a cheerful woman who works at a kiosk. She knows the wishes and problems of her customers well and attends to their every need, but she often dreams of being far away.
Torre David (22 minutes) – 750 families on 45 levels live and work (informally) in an unfinished building called Torre David (Caracas, Venezuela) planned as an office tower but stopped shortly before completion in 1993. Urban-Think Tank and Justin McGuirk won the Golden Lion at the 2012 Venice Biennale for their provocative installation responding to the Torre David and telling its story – research that would also give form to a celebrated publication. This is the cinematic version of UTT’s ongoing research on this widely debated tower and the story of Torre David.
De Pijp (10 minutes) – Kids of the Netherlands take back the streets. This TV documentary shows the Amsterdam neighborhood ‘De Pijp’ which suffers from overcrowding and under planning, as told from a child’s perspective.
La Nuit de L’ours (22 minutes) – In a city of disconcerting nature, homeless animals are looking for shelter for the night. They take refuge in the Bear’s house, creating an ephemeral community that will dissolve with the first rays of sun.
