Event Details

Join the San Francisco Main Library for a book launch event for Part of Our Lives: A People’s History of the American Public Library, with author Wayne Wiegand.

The book takes a “bottom-up” approach and views the history of the American public library through the eyes of its users, it presents many more reasons why people love these ubiquitous institutions than are cited by information technology experts who tend to see only one future for libraries. Part of Our Lives will provide new answers to the question “Do We Need Libraries?”
