Inspired by vintage clubs like Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage and David Mancuso’s Loft, Pillow Talk is a new free dance party from the organizers of $5 Art Party and local favorites Dinosaur Contact.

Tired of “dance” parties playing self serious dubstep, fidget, glitchy electro, witch house, tech house, and other music terminally lacking in funk, they decided to put together a party focused solely on getting booties shakin’. After a myriad of bangin’ house parties throughout the bay, they moved on to venues like Underground SF, Milk Bar, and The Blue Macaw. Now, the $5 Art Party crew and Dinosaur Contact are expanding with a new monthly that keeps the unpretentious community fun of those original house parties.

Pillow Talk is all about delivering the finest in party jams, classic disco cuts, french electro, baltimore club, RnB, and anything else with a funky bass and a disco beat. Featuring guest DJs Complaint Department and Pitchfork.com acclaimed artist Melee Beats, Pillow Talk will appeal to fans of the Sweater Funk crew, Gemini Disco, and Honey Soundsystem, or anyone in need of a dance party where people actually, you know, dance.
