Submitted by the Event Organizer
Combat or cook your way to victory at the Shire of Cloondara’s Pirate Siege & Beach Cook-Off at Ocean Beach on Sunday, September 25.
A combination of two different activities, pirate invaders and shire defenders will face off for a series of fights, all while the defenders host a siege cooking competition under the assumption that though their supplies are low, an impressive medieval feast still must be made from five mystery ingredients.
The event is $5 and open to the public, though participants are also asked to try and wear an approximation of medieval garb or a pirate outfit, though there will be some loaner clothing and combat equipment available on site.
Want to Try Your Hand at Medieval Cooking?
If you’re interested in testing your 14th century culinary skills at the pirate siege mystery cookoff, RSVP in advance to Lady Esnad O Muirin at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also make sure to bring extra herbs and spices, a maximum of one fresh fruit or vegetable and a fire grate & cookware to help make your five mystery ingredients more appealing, as well as a little something extra for the potluck lunch, which you can enjoy while listening to your fellow fighters recite medieval-style poetry at the open bardic.
