Playland At 43rd Avenue Celebrates, Multi-Use Community Park in the Outer Sunset, Closing After Six Years; Affordable Homes for Teachers on the Way .

Playland at 43rd Avenue is an outdoor inclusive multi-use park where San Francisco residents have found opportunities for gardening, exercising, gathering with neighbors every day or at special events, and a wide variety of play opportunities.
After six years of active use, Playland will be closing this summer. The planned 135-unit affordable housing development, entirely dedicated to housing San Francisco’s educators and named after the late congresswoman and teacher Shirley Chisholm, is expected to start construction in August 2022.
To celebrate 6 years of success at Playland, the Planning Department will host a special event on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Playland. For more details, visit the event page.
