Adventure + Exray’s + Phantom Kicks + Yalls + epicsauce DJs at Milk. These are all electronic-tinged local acts with big futures ahead of them. Wouldn’t it be cool if you saw their show and took bets on which ones will break out big time real soon?
Adventure are a Baltimore-based electronic trio does electro-pop with members in Dan Deacon Ensemble. “During their shows, Adventure goes all out; an explosion of bubbles… brightly colored full body suits… crazy lights and swirling projections.” -Oh My Rockness
Exray’s are a local folk-inspired electronic act that has been generating a lot of well-deserved buzz in recent months. Their track “Hesitation” was featured in the Social Network last year, and they recently headlined Cafe Du Nord and played a Noise Pop show. “Exrays shined a beam of light with generous amounts of rocking electro-folk and ample gratitude and grace. ” -Impose
Phantom Kicks are a recently expanded local quartet that makes experimental electro-pop. “Fusing electronic concepts with the looped and layered melodic tendencies of post-rock, the Phantom Kicks have created a soothing and fascinatingly intricate soundscape.” – The Deli Magazine
Yalls is a newish solo act out of Oakland. Definitely in a similar vein as Toro Y Moi/Teen Daze/Millionyoung, but with a weirdo twist all his own. “Yalls seems to have used what sounds to be the melancholic score to a distant film.” -Life Aquatic
