Pop-Up Experience “Cena Sana” Comes to Berkeley Herbal Center
A Culinary Journey through the Healing Foods of Latin America
A seasoned culinary team + clinical herbalist —who spent years working together under many notable chefs across the country, are launching the pop-up Cena Sana: A Culinary Journey through the Healing foods of Latin America, at Berkeley Herbal Center on June 1st, 2024. The event aims to gather support and funds for the launch of a new initiative: The Berkeley Herbal Center’s Mobile Clinic. The fundraising dinner promises an evening of delectable culinary delights, and an opportunity for guests to contribute to a cause that will support the school’s mission of providing accessible healthcare to the community. About Berkeley Herbal Center:
Established in 1995, the Berkeley Herbal Center is a leading Western Herbal educational center and low cost community clinic based in Berkeley, California. The Center offers a comprehensive, integrated education in herbal medicine and practice, and is one of very few schools nationwide with clinical internships in Western herbalism.

● Michael Iglesias – Founder & Service Director
With three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Iglesias has overseen restaurants and beverage programs across the country, opening multiple concepts with luminaries including José Andrés and Michael Chiarello. He went on to launch his own hospitality
consulting business, helping open restaurants and developing their beverage programs. His experience includes Buckeye Roadhouse, Fog City Diner, Bottega, Coqueta, Mezcalito, Cortez, Teleferic Barcelona (in the Bay Area), Proof, Poca Madre and Oyamel (Washington, D.C.) and he co-owns Comeré Cocina de Matatlán in the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico with celebrated Mezcalero Asis Cortes and his wife Mar Cortes.
● Ashley Campos – Founder & Executive Director of Berkeley Herbal Center
Meet Ashley, clinical herbalist and community educator with a decade of experience alongside Michael in the hospitality industry. Inspired by the power of food as medicine, Ashley is dedicated to fostering community herbal education and crafting immersive experiences that nourish the mind, body, and soul.
