Event Details

When it comes to oceans and marine wildlife, it’s not often you hear good news, but here it is: harbor porpoises are back in the SF Bay Area. These cousins of whales and dolphins have finally returned after a 65-year absence.

In Search of Porpoises: Bridge Walk
Your guide will start off with a short natural history talk at the Gulf of the Farallones National Sanctuary offices and then carpool up to the bridge and walk out onto the Golden Gate Bridge pedestrian walkway to look for porpoises.

Space is limited. To register, contact Christy Walker at (650) 712-8948 or Christy.Walker@noaa.gov
