Greenpeace “Rainbow Warrior” Ship | Pier 15
Come aboard Greenpeace’s iconic sailing ship, the Rainbow Warrior, docked at San Francisco’s Pier 15 for a week of tours and events from November 8-17, 2013.
During its stay the ship will host a number events including a free indie concert, free weekend tours of the 190ft eco-ship, and a ‘floating art gallery’ day.
This beautiful 190ft vessel is the newest generation of Greenpeace’s historic fleet and includes some of the most environmentally-friendly sailing technology available.
Greenpeace’s ships have a long history of making headlines, from the bombing of the original Rainbow Warrior in 1985, to last month’s seizure of the Arctic Sunrise in Russia.
Come on board the Rainbow Warrior ship for a free screening of “Postcards from Climate Change,” a film about the moving stories of lives directly affected by climate change, and a Q&A with the team that created them.
Climate change isn’t just something that’s happening in other parts of the world; it’s increasingly wreaking havoc on our doorstep. Inspired by the communities Greenpeace met while helping in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, they started filming stories from people who’ve been directly effected by the impacts of climate change here in the States.
