Big Oil companies have long known that plastic recycling is not a viable solution for the plastic waste crisis, but they have misled the public through deceptive marketing and education campaigns. By promoting plastic recycling as a solution, these companies have protected and expanded plastic markets, contributing to the plastic waste crisis we are in today. Attendees will learn more about Big Oil’s tactics and efforts to hold these corporations accountable.
Chelsea Linsley is a Senior Attorney at the Center for Climate Integrity, a nonprofit organization that supports communities in efforts to hold oil and gas corporations accountable for deceiving the public about their harmful products. Chelsea lives in Oakland, CA and has eight years of experience holding major industries accountable for the protection of the environment and human health.
