The San Mateo County History Museum will present author John Horgan at 1 p.m. on August 4, who will discuss his recently published book: Cradle of Champions: A Selected History of San Mateo County Sports. Horgan’s presentation will take place during the Museum’s “First Free Friday’s” monthly event, meaning there will be no admission charge for the museum that day. John has been writing about Peninsula sports since 1963. He was the Sports Editor for the San Mateo Times between 1989 and 1996. A book signing will follow the presentation.
