Event Details

Acclaimed author, cool guy and excellent speaker Joshua Shenk, comes to San Francisco to spell out the drama and mysteries surrounding one of Lincoln’s major depressive episodes and its lasting influence on Lincoln’s character.

After discussion and food, audience members have an opportunity to stay for theater artist & juggler Sara Felder’s solo play – Melancholy, A Comedy – about Lincoln, Lunacy & Love. 7 p.m. Separate admission charge. Info at www.themarsh.org.

Joshua Wolf Shenk is a curator, essayist, and author, most recently, of Powers of Two: How Relationships Drive Creativity (Eamon Dolan Books/Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). His first book, Lincoln’s Melancholy, was named one of the best books of 2005 by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, and won awards from The Abraham Lincoln Institute, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and the National Mental Health Association.
