Event Details

San Francisco City Hall’s 100 Year Celebration Art Show with Jeremy Fish | City Hall

100 works of art celebrating City Hall’s 100th Birthday.

To celebrate 100 years of San Francisco City Hall, the San Francisco Arts Commission has commissioned 100 drawings by internationally renowned local artist Jeremy Fish as part of an exhibition titled O Glorious City, opening on November 4, 2015.

As the first ever Artist in Residence at San Francisco City Hall, Jeremy Fish had been attending public meetings, exploring the Beaux Arts architecture, and getting to know the people who work at and visit City Hall since July.

A publicly accessible mailbox has been set up in the Office of Building Management at the Ground Floor of City Hall and visitors are encouraged to leave notes, postcards and mementos for Fish during his residency.

The title O Glorious City comes from a text written by former San Francisco Mayor Edward Robeson Taylor inscribed in the rotunda of City Hall: “San Francisco, O glorious city of our hearts that has been tried and not found wanting, go thou with like spirit to make the future thine.”
