Event Details

Three authors will read from their recent essay collections at the Queer Words quarterly book reading Tuesday, September 20, 7pm at Folio Books in Noe Valley.

Julia Serano will read from the new edition of Whipping Girl, her transfeminist manifesto. Aaron Shurin reads from The Skin of Meaning, essays from 30 years of social analysis of poetry. Yuska Lufti Tuanakotta, dancer and author, will present selections from Gentlemen Prefer Asians: Tales of Gay Indonesians and Green Card Marriages.

A panel discussion on essay writing will follow the readings. All 3 books will be available for signing and refreshments will also be provided.
