Local playwright, poet and translator Rebecca Bella won praise in 2007 for her first play “Terroristka” about a young Chechen woman trained to be a suicide bomber.

Now she’s back with The Akimbo Sonata about a child prodigy and her father, a scientist, discover an elephant in the piano.

This event is a FREE theatrical reading of The Akimbo Sonata, directed by Ana Pichardo. You’ll see actors reading the parts, acting with their voices while you fill in the rest with you imagination.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Rebecca Bella teaches Writing Composition and World Literature at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. A scholarly woman, Bella received her BA from Brown University in 2002, and an MA in Creative Writing from Boston University in 2005.
