Event Details

This Friday, from 5-9 TechShop SoMa is hosting an open house with a talk by Kevin Kelly, founding editor of Wired Magazine and author of What Technology Wants, a provocative new book which suggests that technology as a whole is not just a jumble of wires and metal but a living, evolving organism that has its own unconscious needs and tendencies.

Mr. Kelly will give a talk about the long-term trajectories inherent in technology, as outlined in his book. Copies of What Technology Wants will be available for purchase at the event.

Come hear this exciting talk and take a tour of our newest shop – which now has both the first and second floors open for use. Meet some of our instructors and hear about the classes being offered. Fulfill your New Year’s resolution to learn something new in 2011!
