Event Details

Is it possible to turn a garbage-strewn abandoned lot in inner-city Oakland into an urban farm?

Sure. Meet the bestselling, local author Novella Carpenter who did it. Learn how she grew her urban farm in to one populated with turkeys, geese, rabbits, ducks, and two three-hundred pound pigs as well as enough fresh eggs and vegetables to share with her unconventional neighbors.

This is a free event. Author will sign and sell her new book Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer. Refreshments will be served.
