“Renegade Drive-In Movie Night” in the North Bay

The North Bay Mobile Drive-In hits Novato with a renegade outdoor film screening in this DIY flash mob drive-in movie where you watch a flick on a 30-foot screen, tune your radio to 88.3, and drink in your car.

The show typically begins with a 20+ minute pre-show with trailers and a cartoon. There’s also usually a 15 minute intermission halfway through the presentation with bonus featurettes and raffle prizes.

1) Please maintain social distancing of 6′ with other groups of people at the show
2) If you leave your car, please wear a mask or some other type of cloth face covering
3) We will be operating without a snack-bar or raffle until the county of Marin reaches Stage 3 of relaxing the Shelter in Place order

There is no grass, so you’ll either want to sit in your car, or bring a lawn chair or blanket.

This is a free drive-up movie show projected onto a wall in a paved lot – if you want to sit outside your car, bring blankets and lawn chairs. Start times vary throughout the summer so please take note each show. Unrated, ‘R’ and ‘PG’ rated films may contain content unsuitable for young children.

PLEASE expect to arrive 30-60 minutes before the show if you want to park and watch in the forward row. No cars will be admitted after the movie has started.

Snack bar and raffle temporarily suspended during “shelter in place” Donate for snacks at the Concession Stand equipped with popcorn, hot dogs, candy and refreshments. There’s usually themed cupcakes and/or other treats plus a raffle with awesome prizes.

“Renegade Drive-In Movie Night” in the North Bay

Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki‘s famed animation powerhouse, kicks off 2016 with the North Bay Drive-In with a screening of the beloved “Spirited Away.”

During her family’s move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts. Miyazaki’s beloved and lavish modernized fairy tale is incredible to behold and a huge favorite among Ghibli fans for good reason.

Please note this event has be rescheduled from April 9th to April 16th due to rain.

Free, but an RSVP is required.
