Return of the Cypher (ROTC) is free live Hip-Hop show every Sunday at the Boom Boom Room that features an ever-changing lineup of artists and improvised sessions (know as “cyphers”) where beatboxers, emcees, and musicians collaborate in a spontaneous combustion of soulful skill.

If you really know Hip Hop, you know that love is at the core of the culture. So this Valentines day celebrate love at the heart of the Bay Area underground Hip Hop scene. Return of the Cypher! featuring live soul sounds by Mama’s Soup. Beatboxing by Emcee Infinite, and hosted by the Don himself, Emcee OrukusaKi.

Other festivities include:

• Best Dressed Contest

Gentelmen get suited up, and Ladies put on that fancy dress you’ve been wanting to wear. Special prizes for the best dressed Guy and Gal.

• The Rap Bachelorette

Three rappers will compete for a sponsored night out with a special ROTC bachelorettte. To try out for this Live Rap Dating Game – email HipHopROTC@gmail.com with the subject line: Rap Bachelorette. Include a recording of your rap, showcasing why the Bachelorette should pick you.
