Return of the Cypher (ROTC) is free live Hip-Hop show every Sunday at the Boom Boom Room that features an ever-changing lineup of artists and improvised sessions (know as “cyphers”) where beatboxers, emcees, and musicians collaborate in a spontaneous combustion of soulful skill.

On October 5, 2014, they have special guest Sound Earth; Bored Stiff emcee Big Shawn teams up with vocalist Heddy Fur raising the level on beats and lryics in this unique expression of Bay Area Hip Hop and Soul.

Also DJ Kevvy Kev celebrates his 33 1/3rd birthday and he’s celebrating by spinning those classic jams you want to get down too as his gift to you.

The monthly MVP cypher is going down this week too. 8 emcees will compete in a series of 30 second rounds. The winner takes home the title of MVP and the opportunity to compete in the MVP of the year in December.

This week’s cypher is hosted by MC Infinite of Hip Hop ROTC and the mighty Felonious crew.
