Make crafts with a magical twist (including magic card wallets, monkey-fist key chains and mysterious thaumatropes) at this special holiday edition of the DIY RitLab workshop, that’s free with regular admission to the Contemporary Jewish Museum.
Contemporary Jewish Museum (736 Mission St., SF) | Thursday, December 22 | 6-8p | $5
Please note the new event date of 12/22 which was rescheduled from December 1st.
In this special edition of the Museum’s ever popular RitLab (Ritual Laboratory), visitors can immerse themselves in a multitude of Hanukkah-Houdini inspired activities.
Soak up the melodies of Conspiracy of Beards who perform the songs of legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen a capella and will be adding some special Hanukkah tunes to its repertoire for the event. Pop into an Art Flash Gallery Chat on Houdini: Art and Magic – a new short format gallery talk for curatorial insights.
Or, if you’re in a D-I-Y mood, create sophisticated and magically-inspired gifts including magic card wallets, monkey-fist key chains, and mysterious thaumatropes. Last, but not least, on this third night of Hanukkah, join a dreidel spin-off! The Museum café is open during this event.
