A protégé of Cuban conga legend Luis “Changuito” Quintana, Havana-born Carlitos Medrano has played an important role on the Bay Area’s Latin music scene over the past decade.

After several years as a sought-after sideman, he decided to launch Sabor De Mi Cuba, a band dedicated to hard-charging Cuban salsa. Since releasing his debut album in 2012, Medrano has earned a reputation as a world-class purveyor of authentic Cuban soul.

Boasting a book of Medrano’s finely wrought original tunes, the talent-packed Sabor De Mi Cuba features the soaring vocals of Julio Bouza, who hails from an illustrious Cuban musical clan.
