Event Details

Contributors to a new book will discuss the deep connections of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo to the city of San Francisco, and will be on hand for a book signing.

Contributors to this collection explore how Vertigo resurrects the stories of San Francisco’s violent past, how sightseeing informs the act of watching the film, the significance of landmarks in the film, and the variety of ways Vertigo enthusiasts commemorate the film. The essays also ask larger questions about the specificities of place and the role they play in our efforts to understand this layered and seminal masterpiece.
