The performances will take place near popular street corners and LGBTQ+-owned businesses as a testament to San Francisco’s enduring legacy. They’re calling it: San Francisco is a Drag!

San Francisco has long been a sanctuary for LGBTQ+ communities, home to over 1,200 LGBTQ+-owned businesses, contributing significantly to the local economy and embodying the spirit of resilience and entrepreneurship. About The Civic Joy Fund:

The Civic Joy Fund has launched numerous citywide initiatives designed to support the city’s recovery and uplift the artists, musicians, community heroes, and small business owners who contribute to San Francisco’s unique character. These efforts will bring together a diverse array of San Franciscans, including labor and business leaders, community groups, Levi’s, and small businesses from all corners of the city.

The Civic Joy Fund, an initiative of the Civic Space Foundation, was born from the remarkable success of Manny Yekutiel’s “Light Up the City” campaign. This project raised $750,000 to illuminate 12 commercial corridors across San Francisco, bringing joy and vitality to these areas. Following this triumph, Yekutiel and Daniel Lurie, a non-profit veteran from Tipping Point, rallied philanthropists and corporate partners to raise over $2 million for the Civic Joy Fund.

About Juanita MORE! :

Juanita More is a beloved icon in San Francisco’s LGBTQ+ community. As a prominent drag performer and advocate, she has used her platform to champion LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance. Her unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of love and inclusivity has earned her the admiration and respect of countless individuals both within and outside the LGBTQ+ community.
