SF Mixtape Society is a quarterly gathering that can perhaps best be described as a mixtape club meets Secret Santa party. People make and bring mixtapes based on the theme, and leave with a mixtape assembled by someone else.
This month’s theme is Lemonade Stand, and in keeping with the entrepreneurial connotation, the party will also serve as a fundraiser for the Save KUSF effort. Donations are optional, but encouraged, and Save KUSF merchandise and guest celebrity mixes will be available for purchase with 100% of all proceeds going to the Save KUSF cause.
Plus, the winner of the Judges Choice award will be invited to be a Guest DJ on KUSF to play and talk about their mix. Attendees can now also submit in advance for the Judges’ Choice prize at www.sfmixtapesociety.com.
Other prizes are offered to the winners of the Audience Choice award, and the Best Art award given for the “best dressed” mixtape.
