On Thursday, September 24, the San Mateo County Historical Association will be honoring Chef Martin Yan (“Yan Can Cook”) as its 2020 San Mateo County History Maker. Chef Yan is being honored for promoting Asian-style food and teaching its preparation to millions of people through his television shows, cookbooks, and other media.

The event will take place online beginning at 7:00 p.m. and include a cooking demonstration by Chef Yan, a live auction, and the San Mateo County History Makers Eagle Award presentation to Chef Yan. As a special treat, this year’s master of ceremonies will be Emmy-nominated TV/radio personality, “Dining Around” host, Joel Riddell. The auctioneer will be Warriors “hype man” Franco Finn. Attendance is free, with a suggested donation of $25.
