Event Details

On August 9, 2020, the San Mateo County History Museum will again present its Victorian Days, but this time as an online event. Kids can get ready for a Victorian afternoon by making their own hat, fan, pocket watch and calling cards with templates provided online.

Parents and children can prepare for a Victorian tea party as a reenactor provides an online “Etiquette of Tea” lesson, complete with some stories about Victorian millionaires of the Peninsula. Recipes will be provided so tea time treats can be made at home.

After the tea, watch a previously recorded fashion show featuring outfits from the Millie Collection. Starting in the early 1980s, museum volunteer Millie Hagstrom started collecting vintage clothing for use in fashion shows and reenactments. Clothing in the collection ranges from the 1840s to the present. Sponsored by Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation.
