Save the “Sixth Street Homeless Self-Help Center” Rally (SF City Hall)

Submitted by the Event Organizer

Hospitality House is holding a rally on the steps of San Francisco City Hall opposing the proposed closure of the Sixth Street Self-Help Center. The center provides low-barrier peer support, case management, behavioral health resources, housing and employment referrals, therapy and support groups, and basic-needs services for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, behavioral health challenges, and isolation. Attendees are invited to bring signs and support the effort to preserve the center.

Original Event Description:
_📣 SAVE OUR SIXTH STREET — RALLY AT CITY HALL

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Hospitality House is taking our fight to the steps of San Francisco City Hall.

For years, the Sixth Street Self-Help Center has been more than a building. It is a place where people experiencing homelessness, poverty, behavioral health challenges, and isolation can walk through the door and be met with dignity, compassion, and community.

Sixth Street provides low-barrier access to peer support, case management, behavioral health resources, housing and employment referrals, therapy and support groups, basic needs, and—just as importantly—a place where people know they belong.

We are asking our community to stand with us.

Join Hospitality House staff, community members, neighborhood partners, supporters, and advocates on the steps of City Hall as we call attention to what the closure of Sixth Street would mean for the people who rely on it.

Our neighbors are not statistics.
Their stories matter.
Their community matters.
Sixth Street matters.
