Event Details

Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

From hip hop to house, from indie to pop, this free event will open your eyes to everything you’ve been meaning to check out.

Featured artists include:

  • Washed Out (DJ set)
Ernest Greene, a young guy from Perry, Georgia, USA who makes bedroom synthpop that sounds blurred and woozily evocative. Backed by gently pulsing, Balearic-tinged disco, Greene’s voice takes on a new dimension.
  • Toro y Moi (DJ Set)
Toro Y Moi’s third full-length, Anything in Return, puts Chaz Bundick right in the middle of the producer/songwriter dichotomy that his first two albums established. There’s a pervasive sense of peace with his tendency to dabble in both sides of the modern music-making spectrum, and he sounds comfortable engaging in intuitive pop production and putting forth the impression of unmediated id.
  • Young Magic (live)
A collective based in Brooklyn, New York though it’s members hail from Australia and Indonesia. Combining dream pop, trip-hop, electro, and global influences, Young Magic continues in the tradition of bands like My Bloody Valentine and Animal Collective and adds a tribal twist.
  • Take aka Sweatson Klank has risen to the top as one of the new generation’s finest producers. In a musical landscape that is quickly becoming overcrowded, Take fuses his own brand of future-flung electronics with elements of avant-garde jazz, subharmonic melodies and a mean hip hop bounce.
  • Star Eyes, Brooklyn’s femme fatale is known for throwing down raw, dirty underground bass tracks, from grime bangers to ghetto house, Miami bass classics to speaker-rattling dubstep stormers. This 15-year veteran of the decks was one of first female drum & bass DJs in the US, and a member of the B.A.S.S. Crew, Eklektic, and genre-bending DJ duo Syrup Girls.
  • MPHD (Bradley Exum) is creating a buzz that cannot be contained and 2013 is looking majorly positive for this techno producer. He is currently living in San Francisco and has his sights set on breaking into other countries to bring his raw power to every single dance head around. With a string of solid releases behind him and a line of massive peer respect, MPHD’s proving to be one to watch.
  • DJ Dials
  • Hard French vs M.O.M.
  • Joaquin Barta
  • Push The Feeling
  • GoldenChyld
  • DJ Balance
  • VNDMG
  • Co-Yah Djs / Green B + DJ Daneekah
