The Scents of Cannabis (Oakland)

Come join perfumer and scent designer Michael Devine as he guides you through an interactive experience of over 40 of the distinct natural aroma chemicals that together create the smell of cannabis. These chemicals each contribute notes like berry, pepper, pine, citrus, cheese, and skunk. You’ll get to smell these chemicals alongside cannabis flower samples that contain unique balances of them. It’s like hearing each of the distinct instruments in a symphony and then hearing them all play together. There will also be a number of samples of cannabis-inspired perfumes, many essential oils used in fine perfumery that share the same aroma chemicals, and some games to challenge your nose. Tuesday, August 8, 7pm, at MeloMelo Kava Bar in Oakland, 3264 Grand Avenue. The event is free!
