Event Details

Laurie Vollen, MD, MPH is a physician, human rights advocate, co-founder of the Voice of Witness book series, and award-winning author.

A conventional medicine doctor, the overwhelmingly positive experience of the nearly 10,000 patients Dr. Vollen has worked with has convinced her that marijuana should be considered a first-line treatment option for a host of common-day medical ailments. Unlike popping a pill, harnessing the medicinal properties of marijuana demands a core of knowledge on the part of the user not easily found.

Dr. Vollen will present up-to-date information on the science behind medicinal marijuana, core knowledge for therapeutic use, and the challenges patients’ experience when they choose marijuana use over pharmaceuticals for their medical care.
