“Seeking Stillness” Art Show Opening Reception

The Marilyn Citron O’Rourke Gallery at the Benicia Public Library is proud to present an exhibition of mixed media and paintings by Bay Area artists Linda Wong and Melinda diSessa. Linda Wong is a monoprint artist who embellishes her work with collage and embroidery. Melinda diSessa is a painter who uses oil pigment sticks and embellishes her work with photo transfers and graphite. The exhibit, “Seeking Stillness,” captures recurring themes of calm and beauty in the natural world.

Linda and Melinda have widely exhibited in the Bay Area including at Arts Benicia, O’Hanlon Center for the Arts, San Francisco Women Artists, Pacific Art League, and Art Works Downtown. Melinda had a painting juried into the inaugural de Young Open Exhibition in 2020.

The exhibit is open to the public April 7 to May 16.

All are invited to our reception on Sunday, April 10 at 3-5 pm. We will hold a free raffle during the reception to win one of Linda’s and one of Melinda’s small works.
