Free “Deep East” House DJ Night | Oakland

Deep East is a weekly dance party held on Thursday nights at Lounge 3411 in Oakland. Each crew member is an accomplished DJ in their own right, and all are East Bay residents.

They came together out of mutual respect, love of deep beats, and a burning desire to bring quality dance music to Oakland. Happy Hour from 9-10 pm features $2 drafts and $4 specialty drinks.

Your serenaders for the evening of October 10, 2013:

• Galen (Sunset Sound System / Get Physical / dirtybird)
  Although Galen can been defined as a San Francisco DJ staple, traveling has landed him guest slots at events throughout the United States and internationally. Over the years, he has played alongside countless renowned artists and in countries such as the UK, France, Italy, China, Canada, Portugal, Spain, and Mexico. His DJ sets reflect not only a synchronous relationship with electronic compositions, but also a profound knowledge and appreciation of genres such as funk, soul, jazz, rare-groove and hip-hop. His mixing ability enables him to smoothly and effortlessly flow between styles within a single set, adept at adjusting his sound to meet nearly any situation.
• Jimmy B (Green Gorilla / VOX)
  Over the years, Jimmy B has promoted and been a resident DJ at parties including “The Bad Puppy” at San Jose’s Historic Cactus Club, Clockwork Events Revolutionary Massives (circa 99-02), “Spliff” at the Galaxy Club (now Club Milk), Elevate, Blam, Drop, ground breaking collaborations at the legendary Catalyst and Margaritaville, Santa Cruz’s only after hours affair “The DL”, RXFX, Sole Division and Be The Riottt. These days, when he isn’t in class pursuing his degree in Broadcasting and Marketing, Jimmy can be found producing events, collaborating with friends, traveling and promoting music via mixing at underground gatherings and club appearances.
