Event Details

Learn about the Spanish Mission that formed the Mission Dolores neighborhood, the people who gave their names to San Francisco streets, and the lake that has vanished from the landscape. Explore an area created by diverse groups who still have ties here.

This is a walking tour of the Mission Dolores neighborhood and does not include a tour of the inside of Mission Dolores church.

This free San Francisco City Guides walking tour is offered regularly through September.

June through September Schedule:
1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Sundays of the month at 11:00 AM

Meeting Place:
Meet at the gold-painted fire hydrant (which saved the neighborhood in 1906),SE corner of Church and 20th Sts. Public transportation: MUNI line J Church streetcar.
