SF Hosts Rare “Willie Mays” Museum for One Week Only (Final Day)

For one week only, fans can step inside a rare “pop-up museum” dedicated to the life and legacy of baseball legend Willie Mays. Nearly 450 items from Mays’ personal collection, including his two National League MVP awards, 1954 World Series ring, Gold Gloves, and even his high school diploma, are on display for free at a King Street warehouse right across from Oracle Park.

The public exhibition runs daily through Friday, September 26, 2025 (with limited viewing hours Saturday morning), offering fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see one of the most extensive single-player memorabilia collections ever assembled. Think: game-worn jerseys, silver bats, Hall of Fame keepsakes, presidential photos, and even Mays’ custom-made 1977 Stutz Blackhawk car.

The weeklong showcase marks the first time Willie Mays’ entire collection has been brought together in one place. While the items will head to auction on Saturday, September 27, the exhibition itself is completely free and open to the public.

Per Mays’ wishes, proceeds from the sale will benefit the Say Hey! Foundation, his nonprofit supporting youth sports and education, making this not just a display of history but a continuation of his lifelong commitment to kids. He arranged for the auction of his personal collection as a way to both share his memorabilia with fans and raise funds to support youth programs.
