Join the North Beach Poetry Crawl to close four days of the San Francisco International Poetry Festival.

Readings and workshops will take place all over North Beach from 11am to 8pm on July 29, 2012. Here is the complete list, but be aware that the schedule is subject to change.

Poetry readings from Dunya Mikhail (Iraq), Yahia Lababidi (Egypt), Joachim Sartorius(Germany) and Sasha Pimentel Chacon (Philippines).

Live Worms Gallery (1345 Grant Ave. @ Green St.)
Beat Poetry Lecture, featuring Gerd Holzheimer.  Sponsored by the Goethe Institut.

3:00—4:30 p.m.

Translation Workshop and panel moderated by Judy Bernhard, featuring translation specialists and authors including, John Curl and more.

al-Mutannabi St. Coalition poetry reading, featuring Kenneth Wong, Dunya Mikhail, Elly Simmons, Sarah Menefee, Persis Karim, Esther Kamkar and Beau Beausoleil.

Poetry readings from Carla Badillo Coronado (Ecuador), Heinz D. Heisl (Austria) andAlejandro Murguia (USA/Mexico).

Poetry readings from Marie Silkeberg (Sweden), Antoine Cassar (Malta) and Matt Sedillo(USA).

Poetry readings from Antonieta Villamil (Columbia) and the Revolutionary Poets Brigade.

7:00—8:00 p.m.

Closing celebration featuring all participating poets.

San Francisco International Poetry Festival 2012

The 2012 festival features free and open-to-the-public poetry and music throughout the City, including a street party in North Beach, youth events, book signings, translation workshops and more, the festival is the third of its kind.

The truly international group of poets, from countries including Colombia, Turkey, Germany, Equador and Italy, represent a wide spectrum in the world of poetry, from recognized masters to emerging new talents, who are redefining the art in evolving times.
