Leading up to Nov. 3rd’s General Elections, the San Francisco Mime Troupe will be streaming our recent show WRECKAGE: A Musical Tragicomedy to stir viewers to get out the vote!
WRECKAGE is an important reminder that by persevering in resistance and using our voices in solidarity we can help right this ship before it hits the rocks. So instead of screaming at the news this election season, gather friends and family, especially if they (or you) missed the show in the parks and hold a WRECKAGE watch party. We all need a reminder that a participatory democracy only works if you participate and right now, your vote is your voice.
How to make WRECKAGE part of your election day ritual:
-Make it a watch party leading up to election day!
-Treat yourself to Daniel Savio’s lyrics and composition and sing along with our awesome cast after dropping off your ballot!
-Send the stream to anyone who is on the brink of throwing in their towel and might not show up to vote. We got you — no way that friend, colleague, or family member of yours will leave this stream uninspired to get out their vote.
Acclaim for WRECKAGE:
“Could it possibly be that events have finally confirmed just what the San Francisco Mime Troupe has been howling at the wind for 67 years! The Troupe, whose shows have been called whacko, conspiratorial, commie and alarmist, now find themselves leading the pack when it comes to shining a bright light on social injustice. Wreckage is a tongue-in-cheek satire that hits a bullseye.”
-Steve Murray, BroadwayWorld
“You will indeed laugh during various scenes in this year’s show, ‘Wreckage: A Musical Tragicomedy,’ but by the end, you also might feel a lump in your throat.”
-Jean Schiffman, Local News Matters (BANG)
“Well worth seeing. Four fine performers (not counting some excellent musical accompaniment) taking on many of our most pressing issues with style, verve and humor.”
-Rob Hurwitt, former SF Chronicle theater reviewer
