Event Details

SF in SF (Science Fiction in San Francisco) presents  Fantasy authors Peter S. Beagles and Michael Blumlein for a reading and Q&A.

There’s a cash bar opening 6 pm and the events starts at 7 pm. No need to RSVP but seating is limited, and first-come, first-seated.

About the Authors:

Peter S. Beagle is “a magician at the height of his powers, a storyteller who is more mesmerizing with every tale.” If you haven’t read Peter’s work since The Last Unicorn, you don’t know what you are missing… Beagle has been distilling the magic, spellbinding and evocative quality of fantasy into each and every one of his tales ever since. Born in 1939 and raised in the Bronx, just a few blocks from Woodlawn Cemetery, the inspiration for his first novel, A Fine And Private Place. Today, thanks to classic works such as The Last Unicorn, Tamsin, and The Innkeeper’s Song, he’s acknowledged as America’s greatest living fantasy author; and his dazzling abilities with language, characters, and magical storytelling have earned him fans around the world.

Michael Blumlein, M.D. is a fiction writer and a physician. Most of his writing is in or near the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. His work includes The Healer, The Movement of Mountains, X, Y, The Brains of Rats, and the chapbook, The Roberts. He has been nominated for the World Fantasy Award and the Bram Stoker Award. His short stories have been collected in anthologies and published in Interzone and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, among others, and he has also written for the stage and screen. With his precise, spare and yet descriptive prose, this absorbing, stimulating writer hopefully has more work in store for us.
