“SF Tweed Ride” Dress Up Bicycle Party in San Francisco

Join us on a stylish and socially distant bike ride at a social speed! For novice and experienced cyclists.

• Start: War Memorial Court, at Franklin and Fulton Streets (Next to the San Francisco Opera House)
• Note: We will meet 12:00 pm, start rolling within 30 minutes
• Destination: Spark Social SF, 601 Mission Bay Boulevard North, San Francisco, CA 94158

The Tweed Ride is a dress up bicycle party through the streets of San Francisco. Don’t worry if your bicycle is not elaborate, fast or impressive. All bicycles are acceptable when it comes to the fun filled Tweed Ride. Riders take inspiration from traditional English country sports attire (think Downtown Abbey or Gosford Park) but creativity is highly encouraged.

What is tweed? Tweed is a traditional English outdoor sporting fabric commonly seen with a thick wool herringbone (chevrons or V’s) weave and often in earth tones. Thrift shops and vintage clothing stores usually have a selection of tweed items, as do larger retailers around this time of year.

This year, the SF Tweed Ride is a slow-paced jaunt through downtown San Francisco, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero, ending in Mission Bay. No riders left behind! We will go slowly enough to talk without getting out of breath. Bring your own water and snack if you like. Continue socializing at the outdoor picnic tables and food trucks of Spark Social SF.
