SF’s 2026 Dahlia Competition in Golden Gate Park (Aug 15-16)

Each summer on the third weekend in August, the Dahlia Society of California draws thousands of visitors to its annual flower show in the Hall of Flowers at Golden Gate Park’s County Fair Building.

Growers from across California bring their finest blooms to compete for ribbons in categories including Best in Show, People’s Choice, Best Arrangement, Best Junior Bloom, Best Photo, and “Nature’s Oddities.” While only society members may enter the competition, everyone is welcome to admire the spectacular displays.

The 2026 Dahlia Society of California Annual Dahlia Show takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16, at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

You must be a member to compete, but the public is welcome to see this eye-popping event.
