The Easter Bonnet Parade traces its roots to 19th-century New York, when families would attend Easter Sunday services and then stroll down Fifth Avenue in newly tailored spring attire. Over time, the tradition evolved into a public promenade celebrating millinery, craftsmanship, and personal style. It became less about procession and more about presence. A citywide display of creativity through dress.

Easter Bonnet Parade San Francisco draws from that lineage and brings it west with intention.

Held in Washington Square Park in North Beach, this gathering is not a street fair, festival, or party. It is an elegant spring promenade designed to honor the art of the hat, the ritual of dressing well, and the idea that public space can be experienced with grace.

Beginning at 11:00 AM, attendees stroll, mingle, photograph, and celebrate craftsmanship in a setting that prioritizes refinement over noise. The intention is to establish a new civic ritual for San Francisco. One that celebrates artistry, presence, and shared cultural memory.
