SF’s Epic 15,000 Sq. Ft. Movie Prop Estate Sale

What happens when two well-known San Francisco Area scenery and movie prop businesses lose their lease on their storage warehouse?

They need to downsize by 90% and move to the East Bay. This once-in-a-lifetime sale promises to one of the most interesting if not largest sale of its kind in many-a-years in the Bay Area. You’ll be sure to find perfect weird scenic pieces and movie props great for Burning Man.

This sale will held at their shared huge 15,000 sq ft warehouse located at #80 and #100 Industrial Way off “Old Bayshore Blvd” in Brisbane.

Many unique and unusual items and everything in-between will be waiting for purchase and placed in a new home. Though many items for sale were used for films and television purposes, there is no documentation available. Almost everything (90%) you see in photos or listed will be available for sale; items on the upper shelves, out of arm’s reach will only be available at the future waves.

The sale is run by The Y.E.S. Co., who handled the massive Armory Estate Sale in 2018.

The “1st Wave” – ACME Scenery

Since 1989, ACME Scenery has been the premier Prop shop for film and television productions. From inception, it has created and provided many scenes and props for film, television, theatrical and events. To name just a few, they have supplied for Nash Bridges, What Dreams May Come, Milk, and most recently Thirteen Reasons Why and a Giant’s commercial featuring Willie Mays plus hundreds of commercials and corporate videos. They are downsizing and moving to the East Bay and in the process, will be liquidating much of its vast collection of scenic pieces, furniture, artwork and souvenirs accumulated over the past 30 years. The scenic pieces would be especially great for Burning Man or as eclectic home decorations or creative yard art. There will be a lot of history and eye candy to behold.

The “2nd Wave” – The Prop House

Since 1984, Prop House has worked on and provided props to many major film production including movie films, television shows, national commercials, corporate events and music videos. It has amassed a collection of over 30,000 items. This inventory includes rare, vintage and just plain cool items used in films from Vancouver to Los Angeles. The Prop House will continue on as a smaller specialized service for the entertainment industry.

The Prop House has provided props for such film and television shows: The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions – The Man In The High Castle – San Andreas – Ballers – Steve Jobs Movies – Zodiac – The Pursuit of Happiness – Winchester – The OA – Milk – Hemingway and Gelhorn – The Phone – Diary of a Teenager – Sorry To Bother You – Contagion – Hereafter– Red Tails – Big Sur – Plus many more projects.
