SF’s HERstory Festival: 100+ Events

In March 2019, the San Francisco Public Library presents HERstory, a month-long celebration of Women’s History Month, honoring and acknowledging the contributions of women and the unique experience of being female today with a diverse array of lectures, films, performances and programs for all ages at every library location.

Women have played a huge part in San Francisco rock since the dawn of the psychedelic era. Rock historian Richie Unterberger will show and discuss film clips by San Francisco Bay Area women performers in the ’60s and ’70s, including Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, We Five, the Ace of Cups, It’s a Beautiful Day, the Pointer Sisters, the Tubes, and the Avengers.
