SF’s Giant “Oktoberfest on Front” Block Party 2026

Dust off your lederhosen and dirndl and get ready to raise a glass, because Oktoberfest on Front is back. San Francisco’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration takes over Downtown on Friday, September 18, 2026, with live music, classic beer hall games, German food, and all the ice-cold beer your heart desires. Prost!

Co-hosted by the Downtown SF Partnership and Schroeder’s, this Bavarian block party brings the festivities out onto Front Street, with plenty of ways to eat, drink, dance, and get into the Oktoberfest spirit.

What to Expect:

Join the celebration in the street while supporting the local Front Street bars: Schroeder’s, Harrington’s Bar & Grill, and Royal Exchange.

• Food & Drinks: Come hungry and thirsty. Schroeder’s, the West Coast’s oldest Bavarian beer hall, along with Harrington’s and Royal Exchange, will be serving up German food specials and plenty of beer, with 70+ beers on tap across the three bars.
• Fun on Front Street: Put your Oktoberfest skills to the test with classic beer hall games, including stein holding, non-alcoholic beer chugging, and a best-dressed contest. Lederhosen and dirndls encouraged!
• Live Music on the Outdoor Stage: Dance in the streets. Start with authentic Bavarian tunes, polka, and yodeling from Ladyhosen, a four-woman band featuring accordion, tuba, drums, and a powerhouse yodeler. Then stick around for Pop Rocks, bringing Top 40 hits, ’80s/’90s throwbacks, Motown, and hip-hop to the dance floor.

All ages are welcome. Attendees interested in consuming alcohol must be 21 or older and present a valid ID upon entry. Bikes, strollers, and four-legged fur babies are welcome. This is a smoke-free event per SF Health Code, Article 19L.
