Event Details

Life is short, let’s wake up and dance.

We’re literally taking over the streets for a Bay Area event like no other. Millennials, seniors, kids, and everyone in between. Get ready for the grooviest intergenerational dance party the Bay Area has ever seen. Dance to honor the parts of life that matter most to us–our loved ones, our friends, our communities, and our planet. Plus free entry to the Asian art museum, a farmer’s market, a giant conversation dome, food trucks and more.

Let’s take over the streets in front of City Hall and show the world that age is but a number. Seniors will join millennials, kids, and everyone in between on the same dance floor. Our goal is to get down with our neighbors, honor the people we love, and create a powerful and positive symbol that breaks down ageist taboos. Let’s defy the generation gap…and dance.

“One for the Ages” Street Fair & Block Party
Sunday, November 3, 2019 | 9am to 3pm
Civic Center, SF
FREE but $20 suggested donation appreciated

9 am: SILENT DISCO YOGA & CLEAN STREETS // DIRTY BEATS (By KindSF)

Warm up with either group yoga or grab some headphones and join KindSF for their signature experience: Clean Street // Dirty Beats–a silent disco trash pickup! Have fun and do good? YES! We’ll also hear from Miracle Messages and some formerly homeless residents of SF, who will then be joining us to dance it up!

10:30 am: INTERGENERATIONAL DANCE PARTY

It’s time to boogie with the Asian Art Museum, the Library, and an epic view City Hall — 30-somethings next to 70-somethings. 80-somethings next to 20-somethings.

12-3 pm: COMMUNITY CEREMONY + STREET FAIR

One for the Ages marks the end of Reimagine festival 2019. This is the culmination of 200+ events across the Bay Area over 10 days, each exploring death and celebrating life through creativity and conversation. As such, we conclude with a unique ceremony to honor the parts of life that matter most to us–our loved ones, our friends, our communities, and our planet. Together, we will make the largest interconnected origami chain of memories the world has ever seen!
