Paranda Party: Nirbhau Nirvair
November 15 | 4–7 PM | Queer Arts Featured, Castro (SF)
Join us for Paranda Party: Nirbhau Nirvair (Punjabi for “Without Fear, Without Hate”) — a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and community through the art of parandabraiding.
This event brings people together to honor the South Asian tradition of adorning hair with parandas—colorful, handcrafted braids that symbolize beauty, connection, and care.
Theme: Nirbhau Nirvair
This years theme invites us to look at the larger system of interconnectedness and oneness, to show up boldly and with love, embracing fearlessness, compassion, and the shared strength of our community.
This years Paranda colors
Think cosmos and connecting to our celestial roots: Silver, Blue and Purple are this years paranda colors so dress like a STAR TO MATCH🤩
As we braid, dance, and celebrate, we weave together more than just hair—we braid stories, joy, and resilience.
