Shoreline Lake Boathouse’s Free “Sail-A-Dinghy-Day” (Mountain View)

Shoreline Lake, in Mountain View, is holding its third annual Sail-A-Dinghy-Day on Sunday, April 12th, from 10am to 4pm. Visitors to “Silicon Valley’s best kept secret” will get access to free skippered sailboat rides, helmed by the Boathouse’s experienced instructors, as well as other Welcome-to-Sailing activities at “Silicon Valley’s best kept secret.”

A hit since its inception, and designed to promote sailing as an accessible, fun and family-friendly sport, this event – hosted in conjunction with the Fremont Sailing Club (FSC), one of the Bay Area’s foremost small-craft sailing clubs – forms part of the 2026 rollout of the sailing season and kicks off the onsite Sunday Sailing Racing program.

Along with the rides, on land, Shoreline Lake sailing staff and FSC members will be on hand to provide additional information, and booths promoting the sailing programs (for kids, teens and adults), and a display of dinghies (such as RS Zests, ILCA/Lasers, BUGs, Catalina Capri 14.2s and others) will be available as well.

The event also showcases why Shoreline Lake is such an attractive sailing destination for experienced small boaters and those learning to sail, besides a great excuse for spending the day outdoors in a peaceful locale.
