Event Details

Join Silicon Valley Reads, DeAnza College and the Commonwealth Club of Silicon Valley in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Silicon Valley Reads with a special in-person and live-streamed author event at 7pm on January 26, 2023. For the last two decades, Silicon Valley Reads has brought people together with books and events centered on a focused theme that resonated with the community.

This year we will embark on a Journey to New Beginnings, featuring the authors from this year’s selections; Tommy Orange (There There), Amanda Skenandore (The Second Life of Mirielle West) and Kai Harris (What the Fireflies Knew) at the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater at De Anza College in Cupertino and live-streamed by the Commonwealth Club of Silicon Valley. Mercury News columnist Sal Pizarro will moderate this esteemed panel.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the Euphrat Museum of Art for an exhibition that will feature South Bay Area artists and organizations that have been instrumental in creating spaces of belonging and inspiring new beginnings. The Euphrat Museum of Art will be open 6-7pm before the program and after the program until 9pm.
