Join Bec’s Bar & Bistro for another soul-floating edition of the popular biweekly Songwriter Showcase.

This week they are featuring three local, and especially awesome, Bay Area acts — Foxtails Brigade, Ghost Town Jenny and Benjamin Brown.

About the artists:

Laura & Anton of Foxtails Brigade (10:30pm):
Foxtails Brigade present an ornate kind of chamber pop. Intricate violin arrangements, performed by East Bay musical powerhouse Anton Patzner, are anchored by Laura Weinbach’s intricately played classical guitar and pitch perfect vocals. But underneath the simple melodies lie an impeding darkness, a lyrical landscape populated by shadowy and bizarre characters, rife with hints of rot, aging, and death.

Ghost Town Jenny (9:30pm):
Gorgeous music held together by Kylland’s haunting and powerful voice. Their songs encompass everything from shimmering harp and ghostly musical saw, to sonic landscapes laced with the ethereal sound of bells and mournful trumpets.

Benjamin Brown (8:30pm):
An an awesome roots-based SF songwriter. Deceivingly young at age 25, he is a self-taught blues guitarist who plays with as much soul as any musicians from the aspiring immersion of blues artists in the early part of the 20th Century.
