Event Details

Back by popular demand, join author Tina Jones Williams for a neighborhood history walking tour of our neighborhood in South Berkeley.

Ms. Williams grew up on Julia Street in the 1950s and 1960s, and her family’s experiences here as part of the postwar generation of African-American first-time homeowners became the inspiration for her books, “Sara’s Song”, and “Dance or Get Out”, and “Perfect Pitch”, available on Amazon.com.

The tour starts and ends at the William Byron Rumford sculpture and mural at the corner of Sacramento and Julia Streets in Berkeley. The walk is flat and easy, and covers about two miles from beginning to end.
